The Downtown Tupelo Merchants Association sponsored a Spring Burger Bash on Broadway,

updating the Spring Cookout format.  This year several businesses sponsored burger booths with prizes awarded to both the best burger and the “Grooviest Team.”  We continued our tradition of providing free ice cream.  Pete Rush, Wayne Stanley  and Bob Spencer set up the tent. 

Otho Stevens chased down the Turner Ice Cream folks and we were ready to go by 10:45.

Mike Lail, Wheeler Pulliam, and John Repult arrived to help out with the customer load which became fairly heavy during the 12:00 hour.  They also assisted in the take-down and the heavy lifting required to return the freezer we had borrowed from Turner.  We were also joined by Brother George Keith and Jason Rush from R. E. Lee Lodge.
